That 3pm hankering for chocolate when you’re not really hungry, but just feel like having a sweet snack can be brutal for when you’re trying to watch what you eat. Obviously if you’re hungry, you need to eat and there are some great alternatives to snacking on chocolate. However, if you are having cravings for something specific & you’re not hungry – here are a few tips to fight those cravings and distract you from those feelings!
1. Drink Water
Not only does drinking water reduce hunger & stop your cravings – it’s also so good for you. It is so important to stay hydrated & so often we forget to drink water throughout the day. If you’re feeling cravings for unhealthy snacks, drink a glass of water and see how you feel afterwards.
2. Make A Call
Sometimes an awesome distraction is all you need to fight those cravings! Give your mum or your friend a call and get to talking! They’ll appreciate that you called just to chat, and you can’t very well talk with food in your mouth!
3. Go For A Walk
Not only is it good for you to get out of the house and work on your health, a study was conducted that showed that those who walked for 15 minutes on a treadmill at a pace that was brisk but not tiring, they were far less likely to suffer cravings.
4. Brush Your Teeth
You know what’s super gross? Brushing your teeth and drinking orange juice. Also, eating pretty much anything that doesn’t mix well with that minty fresh flavour. So, pop in a mint, have some gum or brush your teeth to help fight those cravings!
